Franklin TN

Franklin TN – a vibrant, growing town with a unique blend of history and modernity – is tucked just 14 miles south of Nashville. While being so close to the city is certainly a draw, Franklin TN has joined the ranks of America’s Top Places to Live on its own merits.

With its charming town square, hospitable residents, fun and funky antique district, and ever-growing, innovative industries, it’s no wonder that people are flocking to this dynamic place. There are so many things to love about this area!

Here are just 4 of our favorites…

  1. The Thriving Economy

Franklin’s recent population surge is owed in large part to significant growth in innovation and technology-driven industries. Now the home to multiple major corporations such as Nissan North America, Mars Petcare, Verizon Wireless, Tractor Supply Co. and several others, the town has seen an impressive increase in job growth over the last few years.

Well-established companies aren’t the only ones calling the Franklin TN area “home” – over 30 percent of the small start-up Inc. 5000 companies in Tennessee are located here as well. This growth is projected to continue, creating a virtuous cycle of job creation and capital that’s infused back into the local economy. Franklin’s leaders and residents are committed to balancing this rapid growth with historic preservation, such that you’ll find a Civil War battlefield preserved in the midst of a bustling downtown.

  1. The Phenomenal Community Events

Speaking of downtown – Franklin’s downtown association hosts many fun events throughout the year. Two of their annual street festivals, Main Street Festival and Dickens of a Christmas, are consistently named among the best in the Southeast. The Franklin TN art scene comes alive on the first Friday of every month, when a free art crawl takes locals and tourist alike through dozens of stops in downtown Franklin’s historic buildings and highlights Williamson County’s local artistic talent.

From Bingo night at one of Main Street’s favorite pizza places to the Saturday morning Farmers Market (don’t miss the donuts!) to vintage baseball games to live shows and movies at the beautifully restored Franklin Theatre, there’s always something happening for everyone.

  1. The Incredible Food

We really can’t mention the Franklin TN and Cool Springs area without going on and on about the food. Tucked among downtown’s idyllic Main Street are old favorites like Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant, the Franklin Mercantile Deli (the “Merc” to local devotees) and McCreary’s Irish Pub & Eatery, along with hotspots such as GRAY’S on Main and 55South. Pizza, BBQ, artisan ales – you’ll find it all here.

Can’t decide? Sign up for a Franklin Food Tour – you will not leave disappointed (or hungry). And no mention of dining options in the area would be complete without referencing the over 200 delicious destinations in Cool Springs – don’t miss Tupelo Honey Cafe or Amerigo’s Italian Restaurant.
